Our iconic makers’ shop is a destination for Bridport shoppers. Built for a tailor in 1845 and decorated inside and out with hand carved details it’s a perfect home for handcrafted work. We continue the making tradition with a book bindery above and a treasure trove of beautiful, art and craft work on display downstairs, featuring notebooks, block prints, ceramics, woodwork and textiles from local makers.
We are open from Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 5pm. And only 5-minute walk from the town centre along West Street and over the river into West Allington. There is parking for six cars outside the shop and Plottingham car park is only a 1-minute walk.
In 2024 we launched a programme of outreach events to support creativity within the community beginning with a network event for writers. Upcoming opportunities for writers will include readings, urban writing retreats and poetry postcard workshops. Similar outreach programmes are planned for a range of creative pursuits in the coming years.
